Screen sharing

Show anything on your screen. Tutor or student shares it in the live room and everyone sees it big.

Share a whole screen, a window or a browser tab. The class stage refocuses on it, and the recording captures it.

Step by step

From one click to a shared screen

Part 1 of 5

Press Share

  1. 1

In the live room's control bar, open the Share menu and choose Screen, window or tab. Your browser's own picker opens so you choose exactly what to show.

Part 2 of 5

The stage refocuses

  1. 2

The shared screen takes the big stage and everyone's cameras move to a carousel beside it. The control bar shows You are presenting until you press Stop sharing.

Part 3 of 5

Students ask, the tutor allows

  1. 3

A student's Share button says Ask your tutor to let you share until the tutor allows it.

  2. 4

The tutor presses Allow screen share next to that student in the People list. The student's button switches on straight away, and the tutor can Stop screen share at any time.

Part 4 of 5

Spotlight or pin

  1. 5

A tutor can spotlight a person from the People list, so the whole class's stage focuses on them.

  2. 6

A student can pin a tile for themselves, which only changes their own view.

Part 5 of 5

Captured in the recording

  1. 7

The class recording captures the shared screen together with the cameras and the whiteboard, so anyone can rewatch it later.

How it works

Sharing built for a classroom

Control

Students share when the tutor allows

Tutors can share whenever they like. Students can't share their screen until a tutor lets them, and the live room itself enforces it, not just the button. The tutor allows one student at a time, and can take the permission back whenever they want, which stops that student's share.

Ways to present

More than a screen

Tutors get extra ways to present from the same Share menu. While sharing, you can also choose to share sound and to optimise for video, and the sharer or tutor can draw over the shared screen to point things out.

Screen, window or tab

Everyone who is allowed to share can show a whole screen, one window or a single browser tab.

Part of the screen

Tutors can crop to one area so the class sees only that part.

Tutor
Video file

Tutors can play a video file to the class, with its sound.

Tutor
Document camera

Tutors can present from a second camera, such as a phone, without losing their own face tile.

Tutor
Computer audio

Tutors can share just the sound from their computer.

Tutor
Focus

Spotlight for everyone, pin for you

When a tutor spotlights someone from the People list, the whole class's stage focuses on that person, including students who join late. When a student pins a tile, only their own view changes. The button wording tells you which one you are doing.

The share always wins the stage

The room can show everyone in an equal grid or a big speaker view. A shared screen still takes priority over both, so nobody has to hunt for it. Cameras stay in the carousel, and the recording captures the shared screen as well.
