Classroom extras
Small helpers that make a live class feel natural: reactions, raised hands, quick polls, timers and mute controls.
No pausing the lesson to type a message. Students can show how they feel or ask to speak in one tap, and the tutor keeps the room calm and on time.
Step by step
From a thumbs-up to a quiet room
Say it with a reaction
- 1
Open the reaction picker and tap an emoji. It floats up over the class for everyone to see, without anyone unmuting.
Raise a hand
- 2
A student taps Raise hand (or presses the hand shortcut). A ✋ appears next to their name and in the top-bar count.
- 3
The tutor sees a Raised hands list in the People panel, ordered by who raised first, with a live “Xs ago” next to each name.
Ask the room a quick question
- 4
The tutor writes a question with a few options and posts it. Students vote with one tap and the bars fill in live.
- 5
When the tutor is ready, they close the poll and reveal the results to everyone.
Keep time
- 6
For timed tasks the whiteboard has a timer, so a “two minutes, go” activity stays on track in front of the whole class.
Keep the room quiet
- 7
Too much background noise? The tutor can mute everyone at once, or open the roster and mute just one student.
- 8
Students stay in the class and can unmute themselves when it’s their turn to speak.
How it works
Tiny tools, big difference
At a glance
The small helpers in every live class
Each one is a single tap or keypress, and none of them interrupts the lesson.
Floating emoji that everyone can see
An ordered queue so the tutor knows who’s next
One question, live vote bars and a reveal
A countdown on the whiteboard for timed tasks
Mute everyone, or just one student
Spoken words shown as text on screen
Single keys for common actions, ? for the list
An immersive view of the class
The tutor sets the volume
Mute all asks every student’s microphone to switch off in one go. To address one noisy mic, mute that student only. Only the tutor can do either, and nobody is removed from the class.
Hands go up, in order
Everyone in the class sees who has a hand raised, and the tutor gets the call-on order at a glance. Late joiners see the hands that are already up, and a student who leaves drops off the list.
Keep your hands on the lesson
Common actions have single-key shortcuts, including raising your hand and switching between grid and speaker view. Press ? any time to see the full list. Shortcuts stay out of the way while you’re typing in a box.
Comfortable for everyone
Turn on live captions to follow along as text, blur your background if your room is busy, go fullscreen for fewer distractions, and tutors can copy the class link in one click to re-share it with a student who dropped.
