About

Founded in 1551, San Marcos is the oldest university in the Americas and Peru's most storied public institution, the 'Decana de América'. Its medicine, law and humanities faculties have educated much of the country's political and literary elite, and nominal fees make it the definitive meritocratic gateway in Peru.
